A report on the delivery of over $7,000 worth of tools to the 203rd ING HHC Maintenance Platoon.

This past Tuesday, Task Force 1-77AR helped the 203rd ING HHC Maintenance Platoon become a positive asset to the battalion. Maintenance Platoon Leader 2LT Jassim Mohammed stated, “We have 43 vehicles that need weekly repairs, and these new tools will give us a chance to fix more of our own problems. It is a good feeling to know that we can fix our own equipment and not rely on the American soldiers anymore.”

At 0900 on Tuesday morning, TF 1-77 arranged to have over $7,000 in tools delivered to FOB Paliwoda. The shipment of goods was comprised of 3 separate orders. These included ING Vehicle BII, ING Maintenance Platoon Tool Sets, and ING Motor Pool Supply. The ING BII order included jack stands, jumper cables, small tool sets, and tire gauges. The ING Maintenance Platoon Tool Set and Motor Pool Supply orders included a 30lbs air compressor, tool boxes, ratchet and wrench sets, screw driver sets, IMPACT wrenches, 2 Ton hoists with chains, and other mission essential automotive equipment. ING Head Mechanic SFC Yaseer Rasheed, “These tools will work just fine. Now we can begin our daily and weekly maintenance.”

The HHC motor pool still has one more week until it is complete, but the soldiers who will work under it have been identified. The Maintenance PSG Yaseer Rasheed has been charged with refreshing the 10 other ING mechanics on other various automotive maintenance. “Even is the motor pool in Balad is not finished being built, we will have 3 operational motor pools in this battalion, and we now have the tools and man power to fix our vehicles”, stated 2LT Jassim Mohammed.
